Items allowed/not allowed to be brought into the exam room
Paying attention to candidates before the 10th grade public high school entrance exam in Hanoi this year, Mr. Nghiem Van Binh, Head of the Examination Management and Education Quality Accreditation Department, Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that all information transceiver devices are prohibited from being brought into exam sites.
Candidates who bring phones or communication devices into the exam room, even if they have not used them, will still be suspended from the exam if detected.

Items such as carbon paper, correction pens, alcoholic beverages, flammable and explosive substances or high-tech equipment are also not allowed to be brought into the exam room.
Candidates taking the Chemistry and Geography specialized exams are not allowed to bring periodic tables or atlases into the exam room.
Candidates are only allowed to bring into the exam room items directly serving the test according to regulations; ordinary mechanical watches are allowed to be used if they do not have smart functions.
For special cases that require the use of medical aids such as hearing aids, insulin pumps, invigilators must check the seals certified by the police force before being allowed to bring them into the exam room.
Along with that, exam sites also arrange reserve exam rooms for candidates who have health problems or need to be stretched out.
Representatives of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also noted that candidates must present exam cards with photos and seals when completing exam procedures. In case of forgetting papers, candidates must make a commitment and supplement a citizen identification card or identification code afterwards.
Candidates have 5 minutes to check the exam questions
After receiving the exam papers, candidates have 5 minutes to check the number of pages, clarity and immediately reflect any abnormalities.
For the Foreign Language multiple-choice exam, candidates use pencils to color their registration number, exam code and answer key; and must check the exam code on all pages to ensure consistency. Examiners are only allowed to use red pens issued by the exam site to perform their duties and must use work checklists to avoid missing professional stages.
Mr. Nghiem Van Binh noted the new regulations of this year's entrance exam: Natural Sciences, History - Geography and Foreign Language subjects in the specialized system are tested directly into the exam questions. This is something that candidates need to pay special attention to.
According to the plan, on May 29, candidates will learn the regulations and complete exam procedures. From May 30-3, students will take general subjects including Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language; on June 1, they will take specialized subjects.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training stipulates that the area for storing candidates' belongings must be at least 25m away from the exam room and arranged separately for each exam room to avoid confusion and loss. Schools need to strengthen propaganda so that students do not bring prohibited items or valuables to the exam site.
