In the 2026-2027 school year, Ho Chi Minh City has 5 schools organizing grade 6 enrollment in the form of competency surveys, including: Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, Hoa Lu Secondary School, Binh Tho Secondary School, Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School and Nguyen An Ninh Secondary School.

According to the plan, from 8:00 AM on June 9th to no later than 4:30 PM on June 14th, parents need to contact the school they wish to register directly to be guided on the process, methods and conditions for submitting survey applications.
After that, from June 15 to June 23, schools will review dossiers, extract candidate data from the first-level enrollment system, number admissions and notify cases that do not meet the conditions or need to supplement dossiers.
From 8:00 AM on June 24 to no later than 4:30 PM on June 26, parents bring registration forms printed from the system to the school to register for surveys to receive survey participation cards for students.
The 6th grade entrance exam will take place on July 1, 2026. According to the schedule, students will be present at 7 am, open the exam paper cover at 7:40 am, distribute the exam papers at 7:55 am and start doing the exam from 8 am. The exam time is 90 minutes.
It is expected that from July 2 to July 6, the survey evaluation council will work. The survey results are expected to be announced on July 7.
After having the results, from July 8th to no later than 4:30 PM on July 14th, admitted students must complete their enrollment documents. According to regulations, if students do not submit documents on time, their names will be removed from the list of admitted students.
In case of needing a review of the survey paper, parents submit applications from July 9th to no later than 4:30 PM on July 11th. The review results are expected to be announced on July 15th.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, parents register online at the Ho Chi Minh City entrance gate and must submit complete supporting documents according to the regulations of the school organizing the survey. The school has the right to refuse to allow students to participate in the survey if the documents are invalid or detect registration for the survey at many schools in the same enrollment period.
