Before the new school year 2026 - 2027, educational institutions in Ninh Binh province are completing the final tasks to welcome students back to school.
According to the time plan for the 2026 - 2027 school year of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, grade 1, grade 9 and grade 12 students will return to school from August 27; the remaining grades will return to school on September 3. The new school year opening ceremony will be held on September 5.
At many schools, classrooms, functional rooms, teaching equipment, electricity and water systems, campuses and safety assurance conditions are being reviewed and renovated.
At Yen Ninh Town Secondary School, Yen Khanh commune, the school inspected and supplemented equipment in 28 classrooms, 8 subject rooms, 13 functional rooms, 3 equipment rooms and STEM-Lab rooms. The internet-connected computer system was test-operated, the library was supplemented with books, the school grounds were cleaned, and green trees were cared for before the opening day.
Hoang Van Thu High School, Hien Khanh commune this school year has 30 classes with 1,359 students. The school has reviewed classrooms, tables and chairs, equipment, playgrounds, practice yards and developed a plan to handle items that need repair before the opening day.
According to the Ninh Binh Department of Education and Training (GDĐT), the current rate of public kindergartens and general schools meeting national standards in the province is 95%. The whole province has 98.83% of classrooms that have been solidified. Localities are also implementing 4 new construction projects and 14 projects to upgrade and renovate high schools and vocational education - continuing education centers.
Along with facilities, stabilizing the organization and arrangement of teachers is one of the key tasks before the new school year, especially after the school network arrangement process. After arrangement, Ninh Binh province has 767 kindergartens, general schools and continuing education schools, including 728 public schools and 39 non-public schools.
To solve the situation of local teacher surplus and shortage, after merging schools, the Ninh Binh provincial education sector will continue to review according to job positions, subjects, and class sizes to re-assign. Teachers in surplus areas can be transferred, assigned, or transferred to the units that are still lacking according to their authority.
Mr. Dinh Van Kham - Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Department of Education and Training - said that the first-grade enrollment work has been completed. According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, on the morning of September 5, the opening ceremony of the 2026 - 2027 school year will be held uniformly nationwide. The general program takes place from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM, in a live form combined with online; schools can organize activities to welcome first-grade students, arts performances and stabilize the organization before the general ceremony.
