The feelings of parents whose children were beaten
Speaking with Lao Dong reporter, Mr. L.V.T - a parent whose child was beaten by a group, leading to a broken cervical vertebra - said that it was not only now that students of Nong Cong 2 High School were fighting, but that there had been many other fights before.
According to Mr. T, students at this school fight every year, however, recently his daughter was brutally beaten, to the point of breaking her cervical vertebrae, forcing him to speak out strongly, hoping to eliminate this situation.
“My child saw a group of friends fighting, tried to stop them but was brutally beaten. Really, who as a parent wouldn’t feel sorry for him? I feel sorry for him, and I feel sorry for the way the girls who participated in the beating acted, because this is a very hooligan act. In recent years, there have been many such incidents in the locality, but only now have I experienced the feeling of having my child beaten. It is really upsetting,” said Mr. T.
According to Mr. T, the incident of a female student beating up a group of friends left many consequences, even negatively affecting many years later. Therefore, to push back and eliminate this situation, there needs to be more drastic intervention from relevant functional sectors, in order to strictly handle cases of violations and repeated offenses.
The difficulty of school
Regarding the incident of a group of female students fighting, speaking with Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Dang Van Hung - Principal of Nong Cong 2 High School said that currently, the school is waiting for the conclusion from the police agency, then will conduct a disciplinary council meeting for the students involved in the above incident.
Regarding parents' complaints that in recent years, students at the school often get into fights, the Principal of Nong Cong 2 High School confirmed that it is true that in recent years, there have been cases of students fighting at the school, however, this time was the most serious, causing a female student to have to go to Hanoi for treatment.
“Over the years, the school has continuously communicated to students and parents. Even at the beginning of the school year, the school has provided a list of students who are playful and do not focus on studying to the localities to coordinate orientation, communication and remote prevention of possible conflicts,” Mr. Hung shared.
According to Mr. Hung, when incidents occur, the school's highest authority is only to suspend students for 1 week, which is not strong enough to deter students. To solve the problem of school violence (not only at Nong Cong 2 High School but also many other schools), it is necessary to have the coordination of functional agencies (especially families and local police) to propagate and deter early to avoid unfortunate incidents like the above.
Previously, after the incident of an 11th grade female student at Nong Cong 2 High School (in Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province) being beaten and breaking her cervical vertebrae, the school investigated.
It was determined that the cause of the incident was due to a conflict between two 10th grade students (who thought they were being gossiped about), leading to a fight. When the 11th grade female student intervened to stop the group of friends from fighting, she was beaten, resulting in a broken cervical vertebra.
