On September 26, many people gathered at both ends of Mo Nang 2 spillway ( Ia Pa commune, Gia Lai) helplessly watching the strong rushing water.
Mr. Ksor Yoih, a local resident, said that floods are a familiar thing, but every time there are floods, life is paralyzed, agricultural products cannot be transported, children have to stay home from school, and sick people are even more miserable. "Now I don't know how to get around when I want to go to the commune center," he worried.
The location of the broken traffic road through the spillway not only disrupts daily life but also threatens agricultural production. The rice harvest season is approaching, but the road is cut off, making it almost impossible to transport agricultural products outside, with a great risk of loss of crop.
In particular, hundreds of students in the village have to take a long day off from school. Mr. Kpa Le Doa shared: "For the past few days, my children have had to stay at home. I am afraid that this situation will affect my studies if it continues.

In the face of the emergency, the Ia Pa commune government mobilized more than 30 people and machinery to temporarily fix the situation, helping people travel.
However, according to Mr. Le Tien Manh - Chairman of Ia Pa Commune People's Committee, Mo Nang 2 culvert has been degraded for many years, and has been severely damaged by heavy rains, causing people to constantly fall into isolation. The commune has repaired it many times but it is only temporary.
Mr. Manh said that the commune has reported and requested the province to soon invest in building a solid concrete bridge to ensure life and production.
Having a solid bridge not only helps people feel secure in living but also serves the needs of learning, medical examination and treatment and trade of hundreds of households in the area.
