On August 30, Huong Hiep Commune Police (Quang Tri Province) confirmed that the unit had just coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Tri Province Police to successfully rescue 5 people isolated in the floodwaters.
Accordingly, at noon on August 30, Huong Hiep Commune Police received a report that 5 people had been trapped in a cajuput forest in Thuong Lam village (Hieu Giang commune) for nearly 2 days without food, endangering their lives.
Immediately, Huong Hiep Commune Police coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Tri Province Police to deploy an emergency rescue plan in the conditions of rising flood waters and strong currents.

From 11:30 to 3:50 p.m. the same day, with 25 officers and soldiers participating, the force approached and brought all 5 people to safety, including: Ho Hoan (born in 1982), Ho Van Minh (born in 1987), Ho Van Diep (born in 2002), all residing in Huong Phung commune; Ho Van Thuc (born in 1989), Ho Van Linh (born in 1999), all residing in Huong Hiep commune.
It is known that the group of 5 people working in the cajuput forest in Hieu Giang commune encountered heavy rain, when the floodwaters rose, they were isolated and unable to return home.
