Spearhead Education continues to affirm its international position
According to Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, in 2025, Vietnam will have 7 student delegations participating in regional and international Olympic competitions with 37/37 contestants winning medals, including 13 gold medals, 16 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. All teams are in the Top 10 leading countries in terms of the number of gold medals; any participating team will win gold medals.
Compared to 2024 (12 gold medals, 15 silver medals, 10 bronze medals and 1 certificate of merit), the achievement in 2025 increased by 1 gold medal.

In addition, the Department of Management of Quality assesses the quality of cutting-edge education, PISA results and higher education. This is considered one of the bright spots of Vietnam in the eyes of the international community, demonstrating the superior educational efficiency compared to investment resources.
In addition to PISA, at the primary level, Vietnam participated in SEA-PLM for the first time in 2019 and excellently led in all 3 fields: Reading comprehension, Writing and Mathematics among the 6 ASEAN countries participating. In 2024, Vietnam will continue to participate and the preliminary results show that it will continue to maintain its leading position in all 3 fields, the official results will be announced in the near future.
At the same time, Vietnam is implementing a comprehensive assessment program for grade 5, grade 9, and grade 11 students on Teaching and Learning (TALIS) organized by OECD.
Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Chuong assessed that the implementation of comprehensive assessment programs provides an important source of information on teaching and learning activities and related conditions of general education, thereby making policy recommendations on teaching, testing, and evaluation, contributing to improving the quality of education, towards developing students' abilities.
In particular, the results of the wide-ranging assessment show that Vietnam is rapidly moving towards fulfilling the commitment to Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 - SDG4: "Ensuring quality, fair, comprehensive education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for everyone", while contributing important data to the national and international student capacity assessment program.

Participating in international rankings is necessary but completely voluntary; the information provided for ranking must be accurate, complete, timely and consistent with the results of quality assessment
Along with Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science - technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, Resolution 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development, along with the efforts of higher education institutions under the support, creation and facilitation of the industry and the Ministry of Education and Training, we believe that sustainable quality improvement and improvement of Vietnamese universities' rankings on international rankings will become a reality in the not-so-distant future that Resolution 71-NQ/TW has set out" - Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Chuong assessed.
