Spreading scientific spirit
On the afternoon of March 20, at Phenikaa University (Hanoi), the opening ceremony of the national science and technology research competition for secondary and high school students in the 2025-2026 school year took place.
The event is co-chaired by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Hanoi People's Committee; the Hanoi Department of Education and Training is the host. The contest takes place from March 20-22 at Phenikaa University.
This is the first time the contest has received the participation of 100% of departments of education and training; along with the participation of 17 universities and academies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vu Thu Ha - Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi City People's Committee emphasized that, with the role of the host locality, Hanoi city is committed to creating all conditions for the contest to be organized safely, seriously, thoughtfully and successfully; directing departments, branches, and related units to closely coordinate and fully prepare conditions to serve the contest.

Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Director of Phenikaa University, said that the presence of students at the competition is not only the result of academic achievements, but also a testament to the process of transforming ideas into products, models, and solutions with practical value. The convergence of students from many localities creates a meaningful academic forum, opening up opportunities for exchange, learning, connecting and spreading scientific research inspiration.

The contest is not only aimed at finding excellent projects, but also contributes to forming a generation of students who know how to observe, raise issues, apply knowledge to practice and participate in solving community and social problems. The core thing is not only in the prize, but in the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to experiment and protect scientific views through specific databases, experiments and models.

Within the framework of the event, Phenikaa University organized visits to typical laboratories, including: Genetic Resource Research Center; Environmental Chemistry and Ecological Toxicology Laboratory; Robot and Artificial Intelligence Practice Room.
The three attractions are three typical slices of the scientific research environment at the school: From student research ideas that can be developed into practical products; to scientific works serving the community and to modern technology systems training human resources for smart factories in the future.
The school also offers university scholarships for students who win prizes at the competition, with a support level of up to 100% of the full course tuition, in order to continue to accompany and support them on the path of learning, research and creativity.
Whether there is a prize or not, students win

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that after 13 years of organization, the number of 242 projects in 21 fields participating this year is the highest ever, an increase of more than 30 projects compared to 2025.
This shows that the scientific research movement among high school students is increasingly spreading, and at the same time reflects the improvement in the quality and trust of students, teachers, and parents in the competition through all levels.
The Standing Deputy Minister emphasized that the contest is not only an event to evaluate results but also a recognition of the entire process, the research journey of students with the companionship of schools and families.
Whether they win prizes or not, each participating student is a winner, because they have embarked on the path of science, nurturing the aspiration for creativity" - he advised.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong also noted that scientific research is a journey full of challenges, not every experiment is successful, but the important thing is that students are prepared, encouraged to pursue their passions, thereby gradually growing up and shaping their own development path.
The Ministry of Education and Training requests organizing units and judges to ensure fair and objective evaluation, respect each idea and product of students; considering this as an important factor for the contest to achieve quality and practical meaning.
