Recently, the incident of two 8th grade female students of Na Loi Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School, Na Loi commune, Nghe An being "kidnapped" to become wives according to local customs has caused public uproar. After this incident, functional agencies and the school have closely coordinated, creating conditions for the students to stabilize their psychology and continue their studies.
On March 4, Mr. Nguyen Tan Phuong - Principal of Na Loi Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School - said: "Immediately after the incident occurred, the school mobilized and encouraged the students to return to school. Up to now, the 2 students have returned to school normally. The teachers have also done ideological work with the students in the class to avoid pressure and discrimination, and at the same time create a comfortable learning space to help them not feel self-conscious.

Not only stopping there, the school has coordinated with local authorities to organize extracurricular classes to promote early marriage prevention and consanguineous marriage prevention for students.
Teacher Phuong also affirmed that before and after each Tet holiday, the school always strengthens propaganda to prevent this situation, especially at sensitive times such as the Lunar New Year.
Previously, two students L.H. A (class 8A) and L.H. D (class 8B) of the school were "kidnapped" by two young men in Muong Long commune to become wives according to custom. The incident has caused concern in the community and the school.
To solve this problem, the school has developed a plan to closely monitor students at risk of dropping out of school or falling into outdated customs, and at the same time closely coordinate with mass organizations and parents to maintain student attendance.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training - said that in the past time, Nghe An Education sector has promoted the development of semi-boarding models in schools in remote and isolated areas. This not only helps improve living conditions for students but also limits the situation of students dropping out of school after each Tet holiday or long summer vacation.
Schools also coordinate with the government and mass organizations to propagate and encourage parents to better manage their children, especially during holidays and Tet.
Along with that, schools have coordinated with functional forces to propagate and raise awareness for students about preventing social evils, preventing school violence, preventing violations of traffic safety laws, preventing firecrackers, weapons and explosives...
“Coordination between schools and authorities has contributed to reducing early marriage cases in schools, while raising students' awareness of law compliance and striving in learning, shortening the gap between regions” - Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan affirmed.
