The Ministry of Education and Training is drafting a Draft Decree regulating salary policies, allowances, support and attraction regimes for teachers, the Decree is expected to take effect from 2026.
Accordingly, Clause 3, Article 3 of the draft decree proposes a formula for calculating salaries. Accordingly, the salary of preschool teachers is expected to be calculated as follows:
Salary = ( phage received + position allowance coefficient + seniority allowance exceeding the framework + reserve difference (if any)) x Basic salary x Special salary coefficient.
According to Decree 204/2004/ND-CP, the current civil servant salary coefficient is being applied. From 2026, the draft new Decree stipulated in Article 4 will add the following specific salary coefficient table for preschool teachers:
Senior preschool teachers: apply the salary coefficient of civil servants of type A3.2 (from 5.75), with a special salary coefficient of 1.2.
Main preschool teachers: apply the salary coefficient of civil servants type A2.2 (from 4.00), with a special salary coefficient of 1.3.
Preschool teachers: apply the salary coefficient of civil servants type A1 (from 2.34), with a special salary coefficient of 1.45.
Current basic salary: 2.34 million VND/month, according to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP.
4 salary tables for preschool teachers are expected to be applied from 2026 according to the Draft Decree on salary and allowance policies for teachers that has been announced.
