On June 5, more than 51,000 candidates in Thanh Hoa entered the 10th grade exam, with the first exam subject being literature. Recorded at the exam sites on the first exam day, there were many parents who brought their children to school and stayed to wait under the harsh summer sun.
At Ham Rong High School, while candidates gathered to do the exam inside the exam room, outside the school gate, many parents brought plastic chairs, looked for shade or sat under the eaves of people's houses to avoid the sun. Despite the hot weather, most parents still chose to stay with the desire to pick up their children immediately after the exam time ends.
When the bell rang for the Literature exam to end, the atmosphere in front of the school gate became bustling. Many candidates stepped out in a relaxed mood, saying that the exam questions were close to the curriculum, familiar and not too difficult.
In the afternoon of the same day, candidates continued to take the English exam. After completing the exam, many students expressed excitement when assessing the exam questions as manageable, with knowledge mainly within the secondary school program.
At the Dong Son I High School exam site, many groups of students gathered to exchange answers and share their feelings about the exam questions. Nguyen Hoang Linh, a student of Nguyen Chich Secondary School, said that most of the questions are familiar, only the last two questions require applying knowledge and reasoning more. Linh predicts that she can get about 9 points.
Sharing the same opinion, Le Cao Ha Duong, a student at Tran Phu Secondary School (Hac Thanh ward) said that this year's exam questions were relatively easy. "I found the questions quite easy and only about the last 2 questions were difficult. After finishing the exam, I discussed the exam questions with my friends and most of them did well. I think this year's English subject will have many scores of 10," Ha Duong shared.
According to the assessment of many candidates, this year's English exam has a familiar structure, without strange or tricky questions. However, the final questions still ensure differentiation to select students with good ability.
Ending the first exam day with two subjects Literature and English, most candidates expressed optimism about the results achieved. According to the plan, on the morning of June 6, students will enter the Math exam - the last exam of the 10th grade public high school entrance exam for the 2026 - 2027 school year in Thanh Hoa.
