According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, after knowing the results, candidates will register and adjust their university admission aspirations from July 2nd to 5pm on July 14th. This is the stage when candidates learn about majors and schools before finalizing their admission aspirations.
Admission points do not determine the whole future
In recent years, economics and finance majors have always been in the group with great attraction. The benchmark scores of many majors at top universities are up to 25 - 26 points, creating no small pressure for the group of candidates achieving average or good scores.
Many candidates believe that the score of 19 - 22 points will be difficult to compete for schools with economic strengths.
However, Dr. Nguyen Bich Thuan - Deputy Director of the Institute of International Training - Academy of Finance said that in enrollment, the important thing is not only the entrance score but also choosing a training program that is suitable for the capacity, has a clear career orientation and meets the needs of the labor market.
Ms. Thuan said that students with admission scores from 19 high school graduation exam scores, if they have an IELTS certificate from 5.5 or Aptis ESOL level B2 or equivalent, still have many opportunities in finance and economics majors at top schools.
For example, at the Academy of Finance, in the score range from 19 - 22, combined with an IELTS certificate, candidates can register their aspirations for the DDP program.
DDP is a regular university training program linked between the Academy of Finance and the University of Greenwich (UK).
Students can choose to study for the entire 4 years at the Academy of Finance or according to the 3+1 model, study for 3 years in Vietnam and the final year at Greenwich University (London, UK). Regardless of the form of choice, after graduation, they will be awarded a Bachelor's degree at the same time from the Academy of Finance and Greenwich University" - Dr. Nguyen Bich Thuan shared and added, the special point is that after graduation, students are exempt from taking 9 subjects (F1-F9) in the ACCA international vocational certificate path, creating favorable conditions if they continue to pursue international professional certificates.
According to the program's statistics, the employment rate of students after graduation reached over 98%. More than 35% of alumni are currently working at Big4 auditing companies, commercial banks, multinational corporations, securities companies, investment funds, international financial institutions and some state management agencies such as the Ministry of Finance, the Tax Department, the State Bank...
Ms. Thuan said that these figures reflect the trend of businesses increasingly prioritizing the recruitment of human resources with expertise, foreign languages and professional skills.
The entrance score is just the result of an exam. What determines the career path is what students accumulate throughout 4 years of university.
If a suitable training program is chosen, learners can completely create a competitive advantage and have many development opportunities after graduation, even if the entrance score is not in the highest group" - Dr. Nguyen Bich Thuan shared.
