Regulations on admission floor scores
The "floor score" (input quality assurance threshold) in university admissions is determined based on the total score of 3 subjects according to the admission combination, not any 3 subjects in 4 exam subjects.
Clause 3, Article 6 of the Regulations issued together with Circular No. 06/2026/TT-BGDDT of the Minister of Education and Training stipulates: "The source of admission to the university training program is candidates with a total score of 03 subjects in the high school graduation exam... according to the admission combination... reaching at least 15.00 points on a 30-point scale...".
Thus, the floor score is calculated from 3 subjects in the admission combination that candidates register, not randomly choosing 3 out of 4 graduation exam subjects. These combinations must be suitable for the entry requirements of the training program.
For some specialized majors, the determination of the floor score is also specifically regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training. Specifically, according to Clause 1, Article 9 of Circular No. 06/2026/TT-BGDĐT:
The Minister of Education and Training stipulates the entry threshold for teacher training majors;
The Ministry of Education and Training coordinates with relevant ministries to regulate input thresholds for the health sector with practicing licenses and the legal sector.
However, candidates should note that this is the floor score according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Each school will have its own announcement about the admission floor score (which may be higher than the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
This is an important basis for candidates to consider adjusting their admission aspirations to suit their abilities and chances of admission.
Benchmark score announcement time
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, after having the high school graduation exam scores, from July 1 and before 5 pm on July 10, universities will announce the input quality assurance threshold (floor score). For teacher training majors, health and law fields, the floor score will be announced on July 8.
Up to now, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry is the first school to announce the minimum admission score for high school graduation methods, transcripts from 16 - 18 points, competency assessment from 601 - 650, see details HERE.
