On October 21, Vietnam Education Equipment and Publishing Investment Joint Stock Company (VEPIC) organized a book donation activity to overcome the consequences of storms No. 10 and 11. VEPIC representatives directly donated 3,925 sets of textbooks (equivalent to 34,163 books) to schools in Thai Nguyen province, with a total value of 603 million VND.

The books are a meaningful and practical gift when many schools in Thai Nguyen are facing difficulties, equipment and textbooks are damaged and cannot be used due to prolonged flooding. In the period when students have only started the school year for 2 months, the lack of textbooks will be a big challenge for both teachers and students.
Ms. Pham Thi Linh - Principal of Nui Voi Primary School (Linh Son Ward, Thai Nguyen) said that the flood caused the entire school campus to be flooded from 1.5 to 1.7 meters, causing many desks, documents and student books to be severely damaged due to failure to relocate. Up to 60% of students suffered damage to textbooks.
"The school has tried to dry up documents and books, but most of them cannot continue to be used. Therefore, the gift at this time is extremely practical.
The textbooks worth more than 47 million VND that the school received will help the collective of teachers and 407 students continue teaching and learning during the difficult period after the flood" - Ms. Linh confided.
On the same afternoon, the Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen province and VEPIC company held a ceremony to present textbooks and educational equipment to students in flooded areas of Thai Nguyen province.
According to statistics, the province's education sector suffered a loss of more than 181 billion VND. Currently, there are over 13,000 needs for textbooks, over 55,000 needs for writing books and over 5,000 needs for learning materials.

Sharing the difficulties of teachers and students, Mr. Vo Viet Tung - Deputy General Director of Kite Joint Stock Company - expressed: "We understand that after natural disasters, not only the homes but also the roads to school for students have become difficult.
Therefore, VEPIC wants to contribute a small part to help students in difficulty. So that each page of the book is a journey of knowledge to help them realize their dreams".
Mr. Dao Xuan Tan - Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training expressed that after natural disasters, the rarest is textbooks. With such a large number of textbooks, without the support of publishing units, the education sector will face many difficulties in overcoming the damage caused by storm No. 11.
