On March 7, the Ho Chi Minh City National University Council (VNU-HCM) held its 24th meeting, term IV.
At the meeting, members of the council voted to recognize Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang - Director of the Institute for Research on nano and phanoline Matters (INOMAR) as Principal of the University of Health Sciences.

Previously, the Standing Committee of the VNU-HCM Party Committee carried out the process of transferring Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang to work at the University of Health Sciences and appointed him to the position of Principal of the University of Health Sciences and continued to hold the position of Director of the INOMAR Center until the new personnel were improved.
Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang was born in 1979, from Thai Binh. He received his PhD in Advanced Materials Science and Technology from Sungkyunkwan University, Korea in 2009, and was appointed a professor of Physics in 2022.
Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang has a lot of management experience from departmental level, Department level, to head of affiliated units from 2009 to present.
He has published more than 200 articles in SCIE magazine (10 international publications published in scientific journals on the Nature index); co-authored 2 international patents (US, Korea), edited 1 reference book...
The University of Health Sciences was established on the basis of developing the Faculty of Medicine under Ho Chi Minh City National University. This is the 8th member university of VNU-HCM.
The Faculty of Medicine of VNU-HCM was established in 2009, a training institution for health sciences, following the school - hospital model, closely combining training with scientific research and providing health care services.
