Marie Curie Secondary and High School, Hai Duong city, Hai Duong province is the first school in Hai Duong to decide to let students take Saturday off from the beginning of November 2024.
Accordingly, students in grades 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11 will study from Monday to Friday and have Saturday off. However, students in grades 9 and 12 will still study from Monday to Saturday because they are the final grade.
The school has arranged a scientific timetable, ensuring compliance with the educational program prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training as well as completing the general education plan for the school year. To compensate for the time, students in grades 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11 will have an additional afternoon of formal study.
This decision was made to help students and teachers reduce stress in studying and have more time to rest. This is an innovative change of the school, showing the attention to the quality of life and rights of both teachers and students.
In addition to Hai Duong, many localities such as Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Hanoi, Ha Tinh, and Khanh Hoa are also applying the policy of Saturday school holidays for students in many different ways.
