On July 15, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School issued a notice surveying the demand for borrowing textbooks for the 2026-2027 school year to parents.
Accordingly, parents complete the survey form before July 17. Each student completes one form. The survey results are the basis for the school to summarize.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training had an official dispatch requesting primary, secondary and high schools to survey the demand for textbook borrowing for parents of all grades. The survey period lasts until July 19; units report the results to the Department on July 20.
The survey aims to prepare a plan for 1st, 6th and 10th grade students in Ho Chi Minh City to borrow textbooks for free right from the 2026-2027 school year. This policy will be expanded by school year and is expected to be completed for all grades in 2029.
In particular, from the 2026-2027 school year, Ho Chi Minh City plans to provide textbooks free of charge to students in areas such as difficult circumstances, ethnic minorities, disabilities... in all grades.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, in the 2026-2027 school year, the city is expected to have more than 197,000 1st grade students and more than 185,000 6th grade students and more than 170,000 10th grade students.
From the 2026-2027 school year, students nationwide will use a unified set of textbooks called Connecting Knowledge with Life.
