Yen Bai - After 2 years since its inauguration, Sung Do Kindergarten, Van Chan district, is completing the final items.

The Sung Do Kindergarten project covers an area of 1 hectare, located in the center of Sung Do commune, with a scale of 2 floors and 15 classrooms. The project has a total investment of 10 billion VND, invested by the Van Chan District Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The school started construction in June 2022 and was completed in early August 2023, with Luong Gia Company Limited as the contractor.

According to the original plan, the school will be put into operation from the 2023-2024 school year, becoming a place of study for nearly 250 H'Mong ethnic students.

With modern facilities, the school promises to meet the needs of learning and teaching, providing a high-quality educational environment for students in the highlands.

However, in August 2023, when the school had just been completed, a prolonged heavy rain caused a landslide, causing soil to flood up to the windows behind the classrooms of the new school.

Faced with that situation, Van Chan district has implemented a plan to build a dike with a budget of more than 3 billion VND, from the province's capital to handle the landslide area.

The project started construction in July 2024 and is expected to be completed in May 2025, with Luong Gia Company Limited as the contractor.

According to Lao Dong's records on December 7, at Sung Do Kindergarten, dozens of machines and many construction materials are gathered at the construction site of the anti-erosion embankment project.

Mr. Cu A Pao (29 years old, Sung Do commune, Van Chan) said that the old school was built a long time ago and was very degraded.

"I just hope the new school will be put into use soon, so that my children can go to school with more peace of mind," said Mr. A Pao.

"The local government and construction unit are striving and making efforts every day so that the students can soon attend the new school. If the weather is favorable, it is expected that the students will be transferred to the new school by the end of December 2024," said the Chairman of Sung Do commune.
