The project to invest in building inter-regional transport infrastructure to support socio-economic development in poor districts of Yen Bai province (Khanh Hoa - Van Yen section) has a length of 29.43km, invested by the Yen Bai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The project started construction in January 2022 with a total investment of more than VND 900 billion from the Saudi Arabia Development Fund; the section passing through An Binh commune, the route is constructed by Tinh Dao Company Limited.
According to the design, the project has the standard of a grade V mountainous road, starting at the intersection with National Highway 70 (Khanh Hoa commune, Luc Yen district) and ending at An Binh - Lam Giang road (Van Yen district).
Once completed, the route is expected to connect the traffic infrastructure of Luc Yen district, Van Yen district, National Highway 70 with Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway.
At the same time, it forms a traffic belt connecting districts of Yen Bai province with Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Lao Cai provinces and the capital Hanoi.
According to Lao Dong's report on December 4, at the project site, workers and many machines are working hard to complete the road soon to serve the people.
Mr. Tran Nhat Nguyen (38 years old, An Binh, Van Yen) said: "Currently, there is no direct route connecting Van Yen district to Luc Yen, so people have to go through National Highway 70 or DT 163, which is very far and time-consuming. When the Khanh Hoa - Van Yen route is completed, people's travel will be much faster and more convenient."
Speaking with Lao Dong, Chairman of An Binh Commune People's Committee Tran Thong Nhat said that An Binh commune residents were very happy when the project started, promising to bring convenience in transportation and trade connection between Van Yen and Luc Yen districts.
"Currently, the site clearance work for the road through An Binh commune has been completed. There are still some problems in the neighboring area related to natural forest land," said the Chairman of An Binh commune.
According to the representative of the Yen Bai Province Construction Investment Project Management Board, with the determination to speed up the construction progress, the investor resolutely directed the contractors to start construction as soon as the site was available. For the sections of the route that have difficulty in site clearance due to the scope of natural forest land, the investor is actively coordinating with related units to implement in accordance with the State's regulations.
"The entire route is expected to be completed by the end of 2025," the representative informed.
Previously, in 2022, at the inauguration ceremony of the project, the Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee affirmed that when completed, the route will create an important inter-regional traffic axis; breaking the monopoly due to the lack of cross-roads connecting provincial roads, National Highway 70 with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway...
In order for the construction project to be invested and constructed with quality assurance and completed on schedule, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is required to strictly comply with regulations on investment and construction; regularly urge, inspect, and control the quality and progress of project implementation.
