225 billion VND school before inauguration
The Thuan An Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School project is being built in Dak Thuy village, Thuan An commune, with a total investment of 225 billion VND, starting construction in November 2025.
The school has an area of about 5ha, with a scale of more than 1,000 boarding and semi-boarding students. According to the design, the school consists of 36 classes, including 21 primary and 15 secondary classes. In the 2026 - 2027 school year, the school has 870 students with 30 classes.
By September 3rd, essential items were basically completed, meeting the requirements of teaching and learning, accommodation, and living of students and teachers.
Mr. Nguyen Kien Huyen - Principal of Thuan An Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School said that the new school has been basically completed to be inaugurated on the occasion of the opening ceremony.
The new school is spacious, students are fully implemented by the State with regimes and policies according to regulations, so they are very excited. Currently, the school is urgently completing the preparations for the opening ceremony" - Mr. Huyen said.
On September 5, the school will be inaugurated, associated with the opening ceremony of the 2026 - 2027 school year. According to the plan, students will start studying and participating in boarding and semi-boarding from September 7.
From the end of August, students have returned to school, and teachers have guided them to get acquainted with the learning environment, regulations and boarding lifestyle.
Each class has about 33 - 35 students, of which ethnic minority students account for more than 50%, mainly children of the M'nong people.
The school is invested in a synchronous classroom system and teaching equipment along with a dining area, dormitory and multi-purpose building, serving the learning and living needs of students.
Joy from the new school
Ms. H'Loen (Thuan An commune) said that when taking her child to class, parents are instructed by teachers to join the Zalo group to follow notifications, grasp the learning and living situation of their children.
The school has very specific instructions, so parents are more assured when their children start to get used to the boarding school environment" - Ms. H'Loen shared.
Mr. Y A Ron (Thuan An commune) expressed his joy when his local children were able to study in a new school invested by the State.
After many years of waiting, now our children are studying in a new school, people are very happy and happy. At the beginning of the new school year, children are also given free school supplies, nothing is happier" - Mr. Y A Ron said.
Notably, the 2026 - 2027 school year is the first year that Lam Dong province distributes free textbooks to students of inter-level boarding schools in border areas.
Textbooks and school supplies are distributed before the new school year, contributing to reducing costs for families, especially those in difficult circumstances.
Putting Thuan An Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School into use contributes to completing the educational facilities of the border area, creating conditions for students to study and live stably right in the area.
In the 2026 - 2027 school year, Lam Dong is expected to organize the opening ceremony associated with the inauguration and commissioning of 2 inter-level boarding schools in border communes.
