Proactively prepare each class
Before the 2026-2027 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long province focuses on preparing facilities, teachers, and textbooks, in the context of the public school network being arranged.
At Pham Hung Primary School, Long Chau ward, preparations are completed to welcome 747 students. The school arranges 38 management staff and teachers, organizing 2 sessions/day, English and Informatics.
Vice Principal Do Thi Hong Thu said that more than 98% of students have textbooks. The remaining shortages are summarized and supplemented in a timely manner, aiming to ensure 100% of students have textbooks before the start of school.
At Tan An Hoi Secondary School, Tan Long Hoi commune, facilities were painted and renovated. Principal Nguyen Tan Lap said that the school coordinated with local authorities and the health station to examine the health of 284 students.
The school mobilized philanthropists to give 20 gifts to students from poor and near-poor households and those in difficult circumstances, adding motivation for them to enter the new school year smoothly.

Hoa Mat Troi Kindergarten, Long Chau ward, urgently completes the schoolyard and stage decoration to serve the opening ceremony. Principal Dang Truong Ngoc Tuyen said that the facilities and staff are basically stable.
The school receives children according to targets and parents' needs. Boarding activities are completing legal procedures, consolidating personnel, developing plans, and selecting food suppliers to submit to the Ward People's Committee for approval.
The education sector identifies the highest requirement as maintaining stable teaching and learning activities, ensuring school safety, and not allowing the arrangement of the public school network to affect students' learning rights.
Ensure sufficient teachers and textbooks
In the 2026-2027 school year, the whole province is expected to welcome 677,724 students, an increase of 3,162 students compared to the previous school year. The Department of Education and Training coordinates with localities to repair and supplement equipment.
Units directly under the Department of Education and Training are allocated 5.3 billion VND for repair and procurement to serve the high school graduation exam and the new school year; allocated an additional 15.6 billion VND.
The whole sector has 41,671 people under public non-business payroll, the rate reaching the standard is 97.34%, above the standard by 23.59%. Faced with the situation of local teacher shortage, the sector is mobilizing and teaching inter-schools.
The education sector arranges redundant management staff who are qualified to teach and proposes teacher contracts, in order to ensure human resources and limit school year disruptions.
At Nguyen Hue High School, Phu Tuc commune, after merging with Phu Tuc Secondary School, the school's scale increased by more than 2,000 students. Principal Phan Thi Thuy Hang said that the school prepared textbooks for students to borrow, and at the same time mobilized socialization of about 30 million VND to award scholarships and school supplies to disadvantaged students.

Director of the Department of Education and Training La Thi Thuy said that the department coordinates with units to supplement the missing textbooks before the opening ceremony. While waiting, students use electronic books.
Ms. La Thi Thuy said: "The education sector requires schools to ensure security and order, traffic safety, health, fire prevention and fighting and weather response.
The 2026-2027 school year opening ceremony will be held on September 5 in a live form combined with online, taking Luong The Vinh High School (An Qui commune) as the main bridge point. Schools proactively ensure Internet connection, connected equipment and backup power sources, towards a solemn, practical, and safe opening ceremony.
