On the afternoon of March 7, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Nha Trang City confirmed that he was coordinating with the City People's Committee to establish an inspection team to verify the content of the complaint of teacher Nguyen Thu Lieu, a teacher at V.H 1 Primary School, about the school "reducing" boarding meals for students, embezzling the state budget and overcharging.
The authorities inspected and verified the complaint at V.H 1 Primary School to ensure the rights of students and transparency in financial management.
According to the complaint, Ms. Lieu said that the school's boarding kitchen was poor in quality and the quantity of food was not guaranteed, even though the meal fee was 29,000 VND/day/student, along with other services.
She also accused the principal of arbitrarily building the kitchen and setting a fee without thongating parents.
Parents are also concerned about the quality of boarding meals. Accordingly, with 712 students in 9 months, the total amount for boarding activities was more than 1.2 billion VND for service fees and 3.6 billion VND for boarding meals.
Each nanny managing 40 students should have received 5.6 million VND, but was only paid 2.7 million VND, the remaining 2.9 million VND was not used clearly.
The school has signed a contract with a catering unit but did not check the amount of input food, leading to a situation of weighting for missing ingredients and changing the menu without announcement.
Meanwhile, the leader of V.H 1 Primary School affirmed that the school's fees at the beginning of the year were all public and transparent, and were in accordance with the instructions of the Department of Education and Training of Khanh Hoa province.
