2 male students riding a motorbike and the tragic accident
On the afternoon of November 20, responding to Lao Dong reporters, the commander of the Traffic Police Team - Thai Thuy District Police (Thai Binh Province) confirmed that a traffic accident had just occurred in the area, killing one person and seriously injuring another.
Accordingly, at around 10:00 a.m. today, November 20, on provincial road DT.47 in Vu Cong village (Hoa An commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province), Mr. TVD (born in 1983, residing in Lung Dau village, Thai Xuyen commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province) drove a truck with license plate 17C - 125.83 from the Hong Thang Company factory in Vu Cong village, Hoa An commune, turning left onto provincial road DT. 47 in the direction of Cho Luc intersection, Thai Xuyen commune. At this point, a collision occurred with a motorbike with license plate 17B6 - 495.78 driven by N (born in 2009, residing in Vu Cong village, Hoa An commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province) carrying behind him M.V.H (born in 2010, residing in the same village) going in the opposite direction.
It is known that N and H are both 10th and 9th grade students at Thai An Primary and Secondary School (Hoa An commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province).
After the strong collision, the two male students were thrown off the motorbike, and both the person and the vehicle went under the truck. As a result, N died at the scene, H was seriously injured and was taken to Thai Ninh General Hospital, Thai Thuy District, and then transferred to Thai Binh General Hospital.
Immediately after the above accident occurred, the Traffic Police Team - Thai Thuy District Police quickly arrived at the scene to protect the scene, regulate traffic, and coordinate with the Investigation Police Agency and the District People's Procuracy to carry out procedures to investigate the cause and handle the case according to legal regulations.
The Commander of the Traffic Police Team - Thai Thuy District Police added that in the past 10 months, 24 traffic accidents occurred in the area, killing 16 people and injuring 9 others, including some cases involving school-age children. The Traffic Police Team, District Police handled 17 cases of giving motorbikes to underage drivers.
In the coming time, the functional forces in Thai Binh province in general and Thai Thuy district in particular will continue to mobilize, increase patrols and controls to detect and strictly handle violations related to student age in the province.
Strengthen patrols, control and handle students who violate traffic laws.
Thai Binh Provincial Police have been launching a peak campaign to ensure order and traffic safety for school-age children, especially strictly handling cases of students using vehicles that do not meet the conditions, and requesting parents not to let their children use vehicles that do not meet the conditions.
Most recently, on November 18, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province also issued a directive on implementing legal regulations not to hand over vehicles to people who are not qualified to drive vehicles on the road.
Accordingly, currently, the situation of traffic order and safety in Thai Binh province and the situation of students violating laws on traffic order and safety are complicated and worrying.
In addition to the reasons due to students' limited understanding and awareness of law enforcement regarding traffic order and safety, there is also the reason that parents do not properly perceive the seriousness of handing over vehicles to unqualified drivers. Through monitoring, there have been a number of serious traffic accidents that have occurred recently related to school-age children.
