On the evening of May 6, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen The Anh - Vice Chairman of Nong Tien Ward People's Committee (Tuyen Quang City) confirmed the tragic incident that had just occurred that afternoon.
"The victim was identified as an 8th grade student residing in Phan Thiet ward. While swimming at Tinh Huc petting boat, he was swept away by the water and went missing.
Currently, the authorities are deploying search forces. The beach where the incident occurred was spontaneous. The locality has warned and propagated people not to swim at these beaches," the leader added.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, in early May, Tinh Huc ponytail on the Lo River (adjacent to Nong Tien and Hung Thanh wards) attracted a large number of people, mostly children, to swim.
The sandbanks running along the riverbed have accidentally become beaches with many potential dangers.

Although the local government has put up warning signs and warned the people, it cannot stop the flow of people coming in every day.
In April 2022, a 10th grade student in Tuyen Quang City was also swept away by water and died at this spontaneous beach.
