In just a few days, Thanh Nua Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School (Thanh Nua border commune, Dien Bien province) will officially welcome students in the 2026-2027 school year.
Preparations at the new school are being urgently completed to serve the opening ceremony and the first school year.
Recorded on August 31, at Thanh Nua Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School, many items are being completed.
In the main yard area, a roof serving the television bridge point is being erected.
According to the design, the school consists of about 7 building blocks connected by a corridor system.
The buildings are arranged according to each function, including classroom areas, art rooms, foreign language rooms, dining areas and boarding and semi-boarding houses.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hong - Principal of the school - said that in the 2026-2027 school year, the school is expected to welcome 1,011 students, including 425 primary school students.
Currently, some items are still under construction, but basically, the school has fully prepared the conditions to welcome students to attend the opening ceremony and start the new school year.
For students who are studying in the new school for the first time, joy is evident on every face.
In many corners of the corridor, young children and adults are hanging brand new national flags, still printed with folds.
Lo Thu Phuong, a secondary school student, shared: "I am very happy, the new school is beautiful and has beautiful tables and chairs, we are calling it a 5-star school".
The Thanh Nua Inter-level Boarding School project was started on November 9, 2025, invested by the Project Management Board of Civil and Industrial Works of Dien Bien province.
The project has a total investment of more than 224 billion VND, built on an area of 5.39ha, including 30 classrooms, 13 subject rooms, 99 dormitory rooms and many auxiliary items.
The 2026-2027 school year also marks a new step in the development of the multi-level boarding school system in border communes.
In Dien Bien, in the opening ceremony on September 5th, 9 inter-level boarding schools in border communes will simultaneously open, officially welcoming students in the first school year.
Previously, on January 31, 2026, Si Pa Phin Primary and Secondary Boarding School was inaugurated.
This is the first school to be completed in the program to build 248 inter-level boarding schools in border communes according to the policy of the Politburo.
The operation of 10 inter-level boarding schools is expected to contribute to creating more favorable learning conditions for students in border areas - where the terrain is complex, traffic is still difficult and the distance from home to school for many children is up to tens of kilometers.
Currently, Dien Bien is implementing 15 projects to build Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary Schools in border communes, with a total investment of more than 3,550 billion VND.
According to forecasts, in the 2026-2027 school year, the inter-level boarding school system in the border area of Dien Bien province will welcome more than 10,148 students, of which about 7,398 students will enjoy boarding benefits.
