While many places are entering the National Day holiday, at the construction site of the inter-level boarding primary and secondary school in Mau Son, Quoc Khanh, Khuat Xa and Kien Moc, workers are still sticking to their positions, urgently completing the final items.

After a prolonged heavy rain, more favorable weather helps to speed up construction progress. Contractors organize manpower in groups, focusing on finishing paint, paving the foundation, installing equipment, renovating the campus and cleaning classrooms.

At Quoc Khanh Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School, many classrooms have completed the installation of tables, chairs, cabinets, smart TVs, smart boards, computers and electrical and fan systems. The equipment is being test-operated to ensure conditions for the new school year.

Primary and secondary schools are basically completed. The administration area, dining hall and student dormitory are being completed with wall plastering, tiling and equipment installation. Outside, workers continue to construct schoolyards, internal roads, curbs and connecting traffic routes.

Mr. Pham Van Hung - Vice Principal, acting director of Quoc Khanh Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School - said that teachers are coordinating with forces to clean up, arrange classrooms, and prepare for trial operation from September 3.

Although the locality is affected by storm No. 4, contractors, construction units and schools are determined to put the school into operation, welcoming students to open the school year on September 5th" - Mr. Hung said.

Along with workers, about 50 officers and soldiers of the Mobile Police Department of Lang Son Provincial Police were reinforced to Quoc Khanh.

Officers and soldiers participate in leveling the ground, pouring concrete, transporting materials, cleaning, installing beds, tables and chairs, blankets, sheets, pillows, and mattresses in the dormitory area.

Lieutenant Colonel Vuong Van Thang - Deputy Head of the Training Staff Team, Mobile Police Department of Lang Son Provincial Police - shared: "Looking at the school being completed every day, everyone is moved. The joy of the children studying in the new school is also the joy of officers and soldiers.

According to Ms. Nong Thi Kim Oanh - Chairwoman of Quoc Khanh Commune People's Committee, the locality has mobilized armed forces, officials, parents and people to contribute about 5,000 working days, striving to ensure that the school meets the conditions to operate on time for the opening ceremony.

Racing against time

At Khuat Xa Primary and Secondary Boarding School, tasks are also deployed in shifts to closely monitor progress.

Mr. Trinh Minh Vuong - Commander of the construction site - said that before that, the construction site at one point mobilized about 200 workers, organizing construction even at night. The evening shift mainly carried out paving work and usually ended around 9 pm.

The project has installed equipment, some areas are completing the tiling part. To date, the total volume has reached about 95%. The main items serving students will be completed before September 5th" - Mr. Vuong informed.

Some external infrastructure works such as electricity, water and communication systems continue to be completed by the construction unit to ensure synchronous operation.

According to the Lang Son Provincial Department of Education and Training, 4 schools in Mau Son, Quoc Khanh, Khuat Xa and Kien Moc were started at the end of 2025 with central budget funds.

By August 24, Mau Son School reached about 97%, Quoc Khanh 95%, Khuat Xa 93% and Kien Moc 90%. In the last days of August and the September holiday, construction sites continue to focus manpower to complete classrooms, dormitories, dining rooms, office buildings and infrastructure.

Four projects have a total capital demand of more than 1,368 billion VND, of which more than 1,348 billion VND has been allocated, with disbursement value reaching about 763 billion VND.

When completed, 4 schools will have a total of 138 classes, meeting the learning needs of 4,728 students in border areas. In which, Khuat Xa and Mau Son each school has a scale of 1,260 students; Quoc Khanh 1,158 students and Kien Moc 1,050 students.

According to the plan, on the morning of September 5, Lang Son province will organize the inauguration ceremony of 4 schools, combined with the opening of the 2026-2027 school year.
