Heads of agencies and units continue to thoroughly implement the instructions in Official Dispatch No. 31/CD-BGTVT and Official Dispatch No. 33/CD-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport on focusing on responding to storm No. 3 in 2024.
Prepare human resources, vehicles, machinery, and materials to be ready to respond to storms and post-storm floods; overcome the consequences of natural disasters according to the "4 on-site" motto, paying special attention to ensuring the safety of people and vehicles participating in storm, rain, and flood response.
The above agencies and units are required to organize 24/7 duty and regularly report to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the Ministry of Transport at phone number: 0989642456 and Email: banpclb@mt.gov.vn.
According to information from the Vietnam Road Administration, at noon on September 7, the Vietnam Road Administration received a quick report from Road Management Zones I, II, III and the Departments of Transport of Quang Binh, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Son La, and Nghe An.
Accordingly, traffic on the route is still safe, there is no damage due to traffic safety loss, some roads with fallen trees have been cleared, ensuring traffic safety.
Dinh Vu Bridge (Tan Vu - Lach Huyen route) and Bai Chay Bridge on National Highway 18 in Ha Long City (Quang Ninh), Kien Bridge on National Highway 10 in Hai Phong City have banned all people and vehicles from passing through the bridge.
Con Nhat ferry terminal (National Highway 37 Thai Binh - Nam Dinh), Dai Noi ferry terminal (National Highway 21B), Dong Cao ferry terminal and Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge on National Highway 37B Nam Dinh have been suspended from 5:00 p.m. on September 6 to ensure safety. Van Yen ferry on National Highway 43 in Son La province is currently operating with limited capacity and is being closely monitored by the Son La Department of Transport, ready to temporarily suspend operations when storms, strong winds, or floods occur on the Da River.
There has been no flooding or landslides on the national highways.
On routes in heavily affected areas and areas where the storm has passed, staff at toll stations on the road have been withdrawn to work at the operators to ensure safety for those performing this work; barriers have been opened and tolls have been deducted from vehicles passing through the ETC system, or OTC has been created for later deduction.
Regarding transportation, the Vietnam Road Administration said that based on the developments of storm No. 3, units will proactively have plans to temporarily suspend road transport activities during the time of storm No. 3's landfall, ensuring the safety of human life and property, and prepare plans to transport passengers in case of special incidents.
Actively monitor and grasp the developments of storm No. 3 on mass media, and direct competent authorities to absolutely not let vehicles participate in transportation business when the weather is bad.
