Focus on ensuring traffic safety
On February 9, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tiep, Head of the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Lam Dong Provincial Police, said that the unit has implemented a peak plan to ensure traffic order and safety before, during and after the 2026 Lunar New Year.
Accordingly, the traffic police force mobilized maximum manpower and vehicles, organizing 24/24 hour closed patrols and controls throughout the province.
Traffic safety assurance work is focused on key national highways such as National Highways 20, 14, 1A, 55, 28, 27; routes with large traffic volume including Prenn Pass, Bao Loc Pass, Lien Khuong - Prenn route, Lien Khuong Airport area and gateways to Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Bao Loc, Gia Nghia urban areas.
During the peak period, the entire provincial traffic police force arranged 22 patrol shifts per day, combining mobile and fixed patrols. The focus of handling is direct violations leading to traffic accidents.
The force focuses on inspecting and handling violations of alcohol concentration, drugs, speed, driving in the wrong lane, avoiding overtaking in violation of regulations. At the same time, strictly handle the situation of overloading, illegal parking, and illegal racing," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tiep added.
During Tet, traffic police strengthened inspections of passenger transport business vehicles violating overloading, passenger overloading; transporting goods without invoices and documents; illegally transporting firecrackers.

In parallel with that, the unit promotes the application of science and technology, effectively exploits the surveillance camera system and professional technical equipment to improve the efficiency of detecting and handling violations.
Recorded at the checkpoint on National Highway 20 (Madaguoi Traffic Police Station), many drivers expressed their agreement with the patrol and control activities of functional forces. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, a driver on the Lam Dong - Ho Chi Minh City route, said that the traffic police working overnight during Tet helps traffic to be safer, especially on mountain passes and national highways.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thu, Head of Madaguoi Traffic Police Station, the unit has proactively arranged forces and vehicles, strengthened control at key routes and areas, especially at night and during peak hours; resolutely and strictly handle violations.
At the same time, the traffic police force combines propaganda and reminders to traffic participants, especially business transport drivers, to raise awareness of complying with the law on traffic order and safety.
In addition to patrol and control work, Lam Dong Traffic Police coordinate with units and localities to promote propaganda on traffic safety laws, and mobilize people to strictly implement the regulation "alcohol and beer consumption - do not drive".
