Lam Dong invites experts to assess a crack hundreds of meters long on Trang Bang hill

Lam Dong - Local authorities invited experts from Hanoi to survey and assess the cracks hundreds of meters long in D'ran commune to propose solutions.

On the morning of November 25, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province said that the province had invited geological experts from Hanoi and a number of authorities to conduct a field survey of the long crack on Trang Bang hill, in Lac Thien 2 village, D'ran commune (Lam Dong).

Previously, on November 24, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai and officers of Military Region 7 were also present at the scene to examine the crack stretching hundreds of meters on Trang Bang hill.

According to the authorities, compared to November 23, the cracks on Trang Bang hill have sunk about 1m deeper and are still at risk of further subsidence and landslides.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that due to the risk of a part of Trang Bang hill slope collapsing, on November 24, the People's Committee of D'ran commune requested the urgent evacuation of 30 households living at the foot of the hill to ensure safety.

With the support of the forces of Military Region 7, Lam Dong Provincial Military Command, local police and militia, households moved machinery, vehicles and items out of their homes.

Along with the evacuation, the authorities have put up ropes to block off and prohibit people from entering the row of houses at the foot of Trang Bang hill. At the same time, traffic police have posted warning signs and regulated traffic on National Highway 27 through this area.
