The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway is over 100km long, part of the North - South Expressway in the East, and has been put into operation since May 2023.
On November 10, Mr. Nguyen Khac Viet - Executive Director of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway Project said that the intelligent traffic monitoring system (ITS) and vehicle weight control on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway are gradually being completed.

Along the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, there are 43 camera pillar locations, with a distance between pillars of about 2km. Items such as underground cables, pillars, and solar panels have been constructed. According to records on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway, many pillars have installed cameras.
Currently, the ITS smart transportation system is basically complete, installing some additional devices and installing software, carefully preparing for the toll collection expected in early 2026 - Mr. Nguyen Khac Viet added.

In parallel with the camera system, at the expressway's intersections, a vehicle weighting control system is being installed. The system includes an automatic weighing system and surveillance cameras.
The operators of toll stations and toll booths at intersections have also completed construction.

The early operation of the weighing station system and traffic surveillance cameras aims to modernize and better control traffic on the expressway.
The vehicle's weight is automatically monitored by a scale, which will help prevent overloaded vehicles from entering the highway, causing damage and rapid deterioration of the highway.

The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway has 4 lanes, a maximum speed of 90km/h, with a total investment of 11,500 billion VND. This expressway does not have an emergency lane, only one emergency stop strip per 5km.
The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway plans 2 rest stops, the station at Km205 is under construction, while the station at Km144 has not yet been handed over the site.
