Although the authorities have decided to stop the operation of the temporary rest stop at Km199+800 of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway from January 24, 2025 because they have put into operation the temporary rest stop at Km205, many vehicles still regularly stop, park and enter this area.

According to records, behind the highway protection fence at Km199+800, there are still a number of spontaneous stations operating, serving vehicles that stop and park.

Faced with the above situation, the inspection team chaired by the Road Management Office IV.1 and representatives of the Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6, Department 6, Traffic Police Department; Department of Construction of Binh Thuan province; Project Management Board 7 and the unit managing and maintaining this expressway organized a field inspection, handling shortcomings in the traffic safety system on the route.

After checking, the team noted that vehicles that still frequently stopped, parked and entered the temporary rest stop at Km199+800 had stopped operating, posing a potential risk to traffic safety. To handle this problem, the parties agreed to use concrete median strips installed with trunks and axes so that vehicles cannot stop or enter this location. The above installation scope is throughout the temporary rest stop, 1 m from the edge of the road. The installation will be completed before June 20.

The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway is 100 km long through the entire Binh Thuan province, with two rest stops planned at Km 205+092 and Km 144+560. The area of each station is 10 hectares on the left and right sides of the route.
Currently, Km205+902 is constructing a rest stop on both sides of the route, combined with the operation of a temporary rest stop. The rest stop at Km145+560 is urgently completing site clearance procedures.
