In mid-July, at the construction site of two rest stops at Km205+902 (Ham Thuan Bac commune) on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, hundreds of workers, engineers, motor vehicles and machinery are urgently constructing items.
According to the reporter's records, after nearly a year of construction, the appearance of the rest stop on the expressway has gradually taken shape.
The contractors are speeding up the progress of gas stations, parking lots, and service areas, working day and night.
According to the plan, the two expressway rest stops have an area of about 10 hectares (each side has 5 hectares). The total investment capital of the two rest stops is more than 385 billion VND.
Engineer Nguyen Duy Tuong - Commander of the rest stop construction said that because the station is both under construction and temporary operation, traffic controllers must be arranged 24/7 to ensure traffic safety and labor safety.
Currently, the unit is speeding up construction to quickly complete the structure of the components on the following items: Fuel station, toilet area, service area to promptly hand over and put into operation according to the commitment to the investor.
According to the contractor, the gas station area has completed the construction of the fuel tank area. The construction teams are leveling the ground and installing roofs.
Internal routes and parking lots in the rest stop premises are being urgently constructed to facilitate vehicles and drivers who stop and park to rest.
The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway Management Board said that up to now, the construction progress of the rest stop project has reached 50%, the construction value has reached more than 142 billion VND.
At the construction site, the contractor mobilized hundreds of workers and engineers to work in many shifts and teams to soon complete and put into operation according to the direction of the Ministry of Construction.
It is expected that the rest stop at km205 of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway will be put into operation by the end of 2025.
The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway, over 100.8km long through Lam Dong province, was opened to traffic and put into operation in May 2023. The expressway is planned to have two locations as rest stops.
Currently, the rest stop at Km205+092 is under construction and temporary operation. In particular, station Km144+560 (Vinh Hao commune) has not yet completed legal procedures to hand over the site to the investor for construction.
