Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction) - the investor of the Dai Ngai bridge construction investment project on National Highway 60 has just requested Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province and related units to continue to support construction stone, crushed sand and gravel to ensure the progress of bidding packages under the Dai Ngai bridge project.
Project Management Board 85 said that the project to invest in the construction of Dai Ngai bridge on National Highway 60, passing through the territory of Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces (now Vinh Long province and Can Tho city), is a national key project. In which, Package No. 15-XL (construction of Dai Ngai 1 bridge and approach roads at both ends of the bridge) was started in January 2025. Currently, contractors are deploying construction with many commercial cement concrete stations and self-established concrete stations.
According to the investor, in 2025, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province and departments, branches and businesses have supported a part of the source of construction stone and crushed sand, contributing to ensuring the progress and quality of the project. However, entering 2026, the demand for materials continues to increase while the supply is still limited, posing a potential risk of affecting the construction progress.
For Package 15-XL, in 2026 alone, the demand for materials for concrete production is up to more than 31,500 m3 of concrete, equivalent to about 24,000 m3 of 5x20 stone and more than 7,500 m3 of crushed sand. Project Management Board 85 requests localities, departments, branches and mine owners to continue to pay attention to and support the allocation and supply of materials according to the actual needs of the project.
Project Management Board 85 also requested construction contractors and commercial cement concrete plants currently supplying the project to urgently strengthen the full gathering of construction stone and crushed sand that have been distributed to the construction site, ensuring that cement concrete items are deployed continuously and without interruption. Construction stone and crushed sand materials should only be used for the right purpose, in the right volume and at the right address of the approved commercial cement concrete plants.

Similarly, at Package No. 11-XL (construction of Dai Ngai 2 bridge and works on the route), the lack of boulders is the main reason why the project of reinforcing the Tran De channel is facing many difficulties in the implementation process.
According to the contractor's report, the source of stone material is currently being exploited mainly to prioritize the production of crushed stone, stone for cement concrete and asphalt concrete to supply to key national projects. Therefore, the stone box products supplied to the project are very limited, each shipment has to wait many days. The scarcity of stone box material is the main reason leading to a high risk of Package No. 11-XL not being able to complete construction according to the construction contract schedule, as well as the direction of the Ministry of Construction (completed on April 30, 2026).
Faced with this situation, Project Management Board 85 proposed to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and mine owners to support the supply of about 15,000 m3 of gravel in February 2026.
Regarding boulders, Project Management Board 85 requests contractors to urgently gather fully at the construction site, and at the same time accelerate the construction progress of related items. The use of boulders must be for the right purpose and at the correct approved address.
