Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee is carrying out legal procedures to invest in the project to build urban railway line No. 1 (Binh Duong - Suoi Tien - Ho Chi Minh City new city).
The project starts at SI Station - New City Central Station in Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, and ends at Suoi Tien Bus Station (HCMC's Urban Railway Line No. 1) in Binh Thang Ward, Di An City.
The main route is 32.43km long, passing through 4 cities: Tan Uyen, Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An and Di An. The design speed is 120 km/h. It is expected that there will be 19 stations and 1 expressway in Phu Chanh ward, Tan Uyen city.

The project has an elevated route from Binh Duong New City Central Station (connecting to Binh Duong Station of the Ho Chi Minh City - Loc Ninh National Railway) along Hung Vuong Street to intersecting with DX 01 Street. Follow DX.01 road to My Phuoc - Tan Van road, through Binh Chuan intersection, running parallel to Ho Chi Minh City - Loc Ninh, Trang Bom - Hoa Hung railway to Suoi Tien station.
The People's Committee of Binh Duong province has proposed 2 options for implementing the urban railway project passing through the province. Option 1, invest in the entire route with a total capital of about 64,370 billion VND (about more than 2.5 billion USD).
Option 2, investing from A1 roundabout to Suoi Tien, not investing in the outlet in Tan Uyen but using the common outlet of Long Binh of Ho Chi Minh City. The total preliminary investment is about VND 56,301 billion (about USD 2.2 billion).
Regarding investment capital, the project will mobilize budget capital from the central and local governments, mobilize capital from private investors, and mobilize ODA capital.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, it is expected that in May 2025, the project investment policy will be submitted to the National Assembly for approval. The project started in 2027, completed and put into operation in 2031.
