The People's Committee of Binh Duong province and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City had a working session to implement regional transport projects, including the development of an urban railway line connecting to the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, the implementation of the urban railway project connecting the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien route to Binh Duong has been approved by the Prime Minister in the planning of Binh Duong province. Accordingly, it has oriented to connect the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien urban railway line, urban railway line No. 3 of Ho Chi Minh City with urban railway lines No. 1 and No. 2 of Binh Duong province.
Binh Duong province requested Ho Chi Minh City to continue supporting Binh Duong province in coordinating the connection of urban railway lines according to the plan. At the same time, support Binh Duong province in terms of experience, technology, and investment in urban railway infrastructure.
Binh Duong Provincial Electronic Information Portal said that this week, the Provincial People's Committee will listen to the construction industry's pre-feasibility study report for urban railway line 1 project.
Previously, in September 2024, Binh Duong province started construction of the A1 roundabout in Hoa Phu ward, Thu Dau Mot city. This is a multi-functional complex, with a construction item of a 5,800 m2 central station on the No. 1 railway line connecting to Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, the station in the A1 roundabout will be synchronized with the plan to extend the Ho Chi Minh City metro line to Binh Duong (about 30km long). This route is being carefully studied, the end point of the route connects to the station at the A1 roundabout.
In the future, it will only take people about 10-20 minutes to travel from the new city of Binh Duong to Ho Chi Minh City.
Establishing a joint working group
It is known that Dong Nai province is also preparing a feasibility study report for the project for the sections passing through the province.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has sent a document to Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces to establish a joint working group on investment in urban railway lines in the two provinces connecting to the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro line. The establishment of a joint working group aims to support experience and issues related to investment in urban railway lines.
