Representatives of the Thang Long Project Management Board all affirmed that the expressway is guaranteed for safe traffic. However, currently, the next tasks that some contractors still have to do include completing the service road, cleaning and some side effects.
As Lao Dong reported, on April 18, the North-South expressway component project for the period 2021 - 2025 through Ha Tinh, including Bai Vot - Ham Nghi (35.28km long) and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang (54.2km long), held a technical traffic opening ceremony. Up to now, after 10 days of efforts to construct in 3 shifts and 4 teams, contractors continue to complete the remaining work to officially open to traffic, in time to put it into operation before the April 30 - May 1 holiday.
In particular, the project was put into operation to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
The North - South Expressway component project, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section, has 3 intersections, including: The intersection in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district connecting to National Highway 8A.
From Highway 8, the driver moved into the intersection according to the instruction sign. Depending on the journey, the driver chooses the appropriate direction, in which, the left walkway entered Bai Vot - Ham Nghi highway to move to the south of Ha Tinh; The right path entered Dien Chau - Bai Vot highway to the provinces and cities in the North.
The intersection in Trung Loc commune (now Dong Loc town, Can Loc district) intersects with Provincial Road 548.
At the intersection with Provincial Road 548 in Dong Loc town, there are 2 entrances/exits to the expressway in 2 directions, from the North and from the South.
The third intersection is the expressway intersection with Provincial Road 550 in Luu Vinh Son commune, Thach Ha district. This is the expressway connection intersection with Ha City. Tinh, Thach Ha district and surrounding areas.
According to the design, the driver can move to this intersection through 3 traffic routes including provincial road 550 (old provincial road 3); Ngo Quyen Street - Provincial Road 550 and Provincial Road 550 - Ham Nghi Street lasted. However, due to the Ngo Quyen - Provincial Road 550 and Provincial Road 550 - Ham Nghi Street, which is under construction (June 30, the car), from the time 28.4 - 30.6, the driver went in and out of the highway through provincial road 550.
The Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway component project also has 3 intersections. The first intersection is in Cam Quan commune (Cam Xuyen district). The intersection in Ky Trung commune (Ky Anh district) intersects with district road 91.
The third intersection is the intersection with National Highway 12C in Ky Tan Commune, Ky Anh District. This intersection is the connection point of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway with Vung Ang - Bung Expressway.
Because the Vung Ang (Ha Tinh) - Bung (Quang Binh) expressway component project has not yet opened the route, at this time, people who want to move to Quang Binh and the southern provinces need to go to the intersection, move along National Highway 1.
In the phased phase, the two sections of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway meet the standards of a level 120 expressway, with a scale of 4 lanes. The completed phase is a level 120 expressway, designed speed of 120 km/h, with a scale of 6 lanes.
The North-South expressway component projects, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang sections, both invested by the Thang Long Project Management Board, were started in January 2023.
