DT.277B route is one of the main routes connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh - Bac Giang with a length of 4.9km, width of 12m with a construction investment cost of about 130 billion VND.
After nearly 18 months, DT.277B road has been basically completed and meets the conditions for technical traffic opening.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that in recent years, Yen Phong district (Bac Ninh) and Viet Yen town (Bac Giang) have emerged as dynamic "industrial capitals" of the North, concentrating many large-scale industrial parks and being the production headquarters of the world's leading economic groups such as Samsung, Amkor, Goertek, Foxconn.
The completion and operation of Ha Bac 2 Bridge has a strategic significance, creating a strong driving force to connect the industrial production chain between the two localities, forming a key industrial region with top competitiveness in the country.
Moreover, according to the plan after the merger of the two provinces, it is expected that there will be 12 bridges across the Cau River.
This will be an important premise for planning and developing a modern, synchronous, industrial city along the Cau River and full of potential for future development with a hundred-year vision.
According to the Project to reorganize Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, the two provinces will merge and have a new name, Bac Ninh province, the administrative center will be located in the current Bac Giang city.
Bac Ninh province (new) has a natural area of 4,718.6 km2; a population of 3,619,433 people; has 99 administrative units at the commune level.
Through collecting public opinions on the Project to reorganize Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces on April 20, the total number of voters representing households in the two provinces agreed was 781,025, reaching a rate of 98.21%.
