On November 26, Mr. Ho Van Muoi, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, inspected the actual work of overcoming the serious landslide incident on Mimosa Pass in Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward.
Mr. Hoang Tuan Dung, Executive Director of the National Highway 1B Renovation and Upgrade Project - Project Management Board 85, said that along with opening a temporary road through the landslide on Mimosa Pass, the unit is focusing on human resources, equipment, machinery and gathering all materials to carry out the construction in parallel with the roadbed and road surface on the main route.
During the construction process, the most important factor given top priority is the quality and progress of the project.
After completion, all types of vehicles will be allowed to circulate. Including heavy trucks. Therefore, all items must be strictly controlled, ensuring technical standards according to regulations.
Currently, Project Management Board 85 and the construction contractor are striving to open the entire route before December 1, 2025.
The unit is aiming to complete the route as soon as possible to put the route into operation in time, serving the travel and cargo transportation needs of people and tourists to Da Lat.
Regarding the temporary road opening through the Mimosa Pass landslide, Project Management Board 85 and construction units are implementing to ensure the set schedule for traffic opening as soon as possible.
The temporary road is constructed with a width of 8m to ensure two-way traffic to avoid landslides.
After the inspection, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi requested construction units to focus maximum human resources and equipment to strive to complete the temporary road to avoid the landslide and open Mimosa Pass to traffic by November 30.
Mr. Ho Van Muoi emphasized that putting the road through Mimosa Pass into operation is an urgent requirement. However, the construction work must ensure quality and technical safety.
Therefore, it is recommended that relevant departments and branches continue to coordinate with the construction unit to ensure construction progress. At the same time, the contractor is required to promptly report any problems during the construction process so that the province can coordinate to resolve them immediately.
The Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee also requested that workers continue to promote the spirit of labor together with the investor and the construction unit to complete the project according to the set goals.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper on November 24, the Ministry of Construction issued a Decision to declare a natural disaster emergency on Mimosa Pass.
The decision is to promptly handle serious damage to traffic infrastructure caused by storm No. 13 and post-storm circulation from November 18 to 20, 2025.
Immediately after declaring the emergency situation, the Ministry of Construction directed relevant units to deploy remedial work according to regulations.
The area identified as suffering damage is located at Km226+600 - Km226+800 (dingign plan Km3+600 - Km3+800), part of the project to renovate and upgrade the section through Mimosa Pass and some items on National Highway 20, managed by Project Management Board 85.
