Dak Nong province aims to start construction of the North-South expressway in the West, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section, before April 30, 2025. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requested the entire political system to participate to ensure progress.
Currently, the project is facing difficulties due to the completion of the feasibility study report of Component Project 1 and the handover of the route and scope of implementation. The Provincial People's Committee directed units to closely coordinate with Binh Phuoc, the investor and the consulting unit to speed up the progress.
In the immediate future, the province will focus on completing the design of the first section of the route through Dak Nong and the feasibility study report of Component Project 1 for approval. After that, Component Projects 2 and 4 will be implemented to ensure general progress.
Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway has strategic significance for Dak Nong's socio-economic development. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi affirmed that starting construction in 2025 is an urgent task.
Regarding counterpart capital, Dak Nong commits VND1,000 billion from medium-term investment and spending savings for the period 2021-2025. In 2024 alone, the province has allocated 225 billion VND, demonstrating its determination to implement the project.
The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway Project was approved by the National Assembly in principle for investment under Resolution 138/2024/QH15.
The total length is 128.8km, of which 27.8km passes through Dak Nong and 101km passes through Binh Phuoc. The total investment is VND 25,540 billion, divided equally between the State capital and investors.
The project will promote the connection of the Central Highlands - Southeast region, break the monopoly of transportation, and shorten travel time from Dak Nong to Binh Phuoc and Ho Chi Minh City.
