Previously, Quang Ngai voters proposed upgrading and expanding National Highway 24, the section from Ba To town, Ba To district, Quang Ngai province to Hieu commune, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province to meet grade III road standards, to synchronize the entire route, ensure traffic safety, and improve transportation capacity.
Regarding the above petition of voters, the Ministry of Transport responded as follows:
According to the road network planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 24 through Quang Ngai province is 69km long, level III scale, 2 - 4 lanes.
Currently, the section from the beginning of the route (Km0) to Ba To town (Km32) has been invested in accordance with the planning; the remaining section from Ba To town (Km32), Ba To district to Hieu commune (Km69), Kon Plong district has a level IV scale, 2 lanes.
Currently, due to resource difficulties, the Ministry of Transport has not been able to allocate capital to invest in National Highway 24, section Km32 - Km69, in the period 2021 - 2025.
The Ministry of Transport has acknowledged the voters' recommendations and will coordinate with the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to report to competent authorities for consideration and investment in the 2026-2030 period.
To ensure traffic safety on the route, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to carry out regular maintenance and periodic repairs in the years 2022 - 2024 with a budget of about 41,149 billion VND. It is expected that in 2025, about 30.8 billion VND will be allocated to continue maintenance and repairs, ensuring safe operation and facilitating people's travel.
