The Ministry of Construction has just issued a decision approving the adjustment of the project to invest in the construction of Dai Ngai bridge on National Highway 60, passing through Tra Vinh province (now Vinh Long province) and Soc Trang (now Can Tho City).
According to the decision, the project is supplemented with a section of National Highway 60 about 12.39km long, connecting from National Highway 91B (South Hau River road) in Dai Ngai commune (Can Tho City) to existing National Highway 60, in Soc Trang ward (Can Tho City). The road is designed according to standards of level III plain roads, speed of 80km/h.
On the route, 6 new bridges will be built with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete structures, including large bridges such as Ba Xam, Soc Dong and Saintard. The project also arranges 5 important intersections to ensure synchronous connection and traffic safety in the area.
The total land use demand for the additional route section is about 50.21ha. Compensation, support, and resettlement costs are estimated at more than 345 billion VND.
After adjustment, the total investment of the entire project remains unchanged at 7.962 billion VND, but there is a restructuring of expense items, increased site clearance and construction costs, reduced contingency costs and some other expenses.
The project uses state budget capital, of which the 2021–2025 period allocates more than 4,237 billion VND, the remainder is transferred to the 2026–2030 period. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2028.
The Ministry of Construction assigned Project Management Board 85 to be the investor, responsible for implementation, ensuring progress, quality and not exceeding the approved total investment. At the same time, coordinate with the Can Tho City government to accelerate site clearance and soon hand over clean ground for construction.
