According to Mr. Thai Ho Phuong - Director of the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center, during the September 2 holiday, the demand for travel of passengers on railway lines increased but there was no overload, except for Cat Linh and Cau Giay stations after the end of the ceremony, where the number of passengers increased dramatically from 9:00 to 11:30.
People traveling by bus gathered at Cau Giay, Long Bien, Cat Linh transit points and BRT waiting rooms on Giang Vo Street. At Cat Linh station, people were given free water by the Red Cross Society and a number of units and individuals and were regulated to ensure order and safety on the train.

Due to the increased number of passengers, the two urban railway lines have adjusted their frequency increase plan earlier than planned. Route 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong adjusted the frequency of train trips to 6 minutes/trip from 4:30 (planned from 11am); route 3.1 Nhon - Hanoi Station adjusted the frequency of train trips to 6 minutes/trip from 9:20 (planned from 11am).
At the end stations of the two urban railway lines, support staff are deployed to take veterans and people with disabilities to separate lanes to board the train. By 11:30, Cau Giay station had cleared all passengers; by 12:30, Cat Linh station had basically cleared all passengers.
According to Mr. Thai Ho Phuong, from 5:30 a.m. on January 1 to 3:10 a.m. on September 2, the railway operated 626 trains (route 2A was 364; route 3.1 was 262), transporting 239,400 passengers (route 2A was 165,500; route 3.1 was 73,900).
Bus routes also basically followed the set plan (temporarily suspending the operation of 18 routes; adjusting the route of 52 routes; adjusting services for 39 routes, in which the operating time was extended to 10:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. for 35 routes).
From 9:00 a.m., the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center has coordinated to operate buses connecting to relieve passengers at Cat Linh station in two directions (Hao Nam and Giang Vo), and at the same time operate relieve at Long Bien transit point.
However, because the road is still closed to clear vehicles carrying delegates, it was not until about 9:40 a.m. that the bus reached Cat Linh Station and not until 10:30 a.m. that it entered Long Bien transit point.
"The bus routes operate continuously, ensuring the fastest transportation and release of passengers," said Mr. Thai Ho Phuong.
