Hanoi - The project to expand National Highway 21B and build a National Highway 21B bypass, with a total investment of more than VND 1,400 billion, will be built in the period from now until 2027.

On March 10, Ung Hoa district (Hanoi) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the investment project to build, upgrade and expand National Highway 21B from Xa Kieu bridge, Quang Phu Cau commune to Bac Van Dinh industrial cluster road, Lien Bat commune and the National Highway 21B bypass project through the district.

These two key projects were approved by the Hanoi People's Committee on June 21, 2024 with a cross-section of 35m wide, accommodating 6 lanes. The implementation period is in the period of 2024-2027.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan emphasized that National Highway 21B has a total length of nearly 60km, connecting Ha Dong district, Thanh Oai district, Ung Hoa (Hanoi) with Kim Bang district and Phu Ly city (Ha Nam). Of which, the section through Ung Hoa district is about 22km long, playing an important role in connecting Hanoi and Ha Nam.

These routes are all included in the Hanoi Capital Transport Planning to 2030, with a vision to 2050, contributing to the completion of National Highway 21B according to the plan.

The investment in expanding and building two new routes not only facilitates people's travel and ensures traffic safety, but also promotes trade, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of Ung Hoa district in particular and Hanoi city in general.

In order for the project to be implemented on schedule, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan suggested that Ung Hoa district focus on implementing site clearance well, promptly removing difficulties, and creating favorable conditions to hand over the site to the construction unit as soon as possible.

Construction units must commit to implementing the project on schedule, ensuring quality, labor safety and environmental sanitation, promptly accepting and handing over the project for use.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also requested the city's departments, branches and sectors to actively coordinate and support Ung Hoa district in the project implementation process.

Accordingly, 2 projects have a total investment capital of more than 1,400 billion VND, of which the National Highway 21B expansion project is 845 billion VND and the National Highway 21B bypass construction project is 593 billion VND.

In response to the direction of the city leaders, Ung Hoa district will focus on site clearance, ensuring project implementation on schedule.

Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony, investors, local authorities and related units stepped in with the highest spirit, striving to bring the two projects to the finish line on time.
