The Southern Axis Road of Hanoi running through Ung Hoa commune is 14.3km long, with a total land area to be cleared of about 73.717ha, involving 832 households with agricultural land and 24 households with residential land.
Up to now, the People's Committee of Ung Hoa commune has approved, reclaimed and cleared 73.468 hectares of land, reaching 99.68% of the total area. The amount of compensation and support paid is more than 425 billion VND. Currently, there are 0.24 hectares of residential land of 24 households (including 18 households that need to be resettled), the commune is urgently completing procedures to hand over the site soon.
Immediately after the decision to approve the resettlement project was issued, on July 4, 2025, the People's Committee of Ung Hoa commune held a conference to announce the expected resettlement location for households to clearly understand. Currently, some households have not agreed with the compensation plan, the commune continues to mobilize and propagate so that people understand the State's regulations.
According to the People's Committee of Ung Hoa commune, from April 29 to May 29, 2025, the District Land Fund Development Center (now the Ung Hoa Commune Infrastructure - Investment Project Management Board) has paid compensation and supported 8 households. These households and individuals have received full compensation and signed a record of site handover.
However, there are households where Ms. N.T.H hired fish release contractors from the above households but have not yet dismantled, moved the architectural works and harvested trees, crops, livestock (fish)... affecting the progress of the project.
In recent times, the Party Committee, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations of Ung Hoa commune and agencies have actively propagated, mobilized, explained, and persuaded households and individuals about the policies, purposes, and significance of the project, in order to speed up the site clearance progress.
Households and individuals have agreed with the State's project implementation policy, in which Ms. N.T.H's household has received full compensation, but has not agreed to hand over the site for project construction.
Vice Chairman of Ung Hoa Commune People's Committee Le Thanh Tung said that the commune has propagated and mobilized many times. If the household still does not comply, the commune will be forced to carry out enforcement in accordance with regulations, ensuring the overall progress of the project.
The investment project to build the southern axis road of Hanoi (formerly known as the investment project to build the southern axis road of Ha Tay province) was implemented in 2008.
According to the plan, the project has a cross-section of 40m, the route length is 41km, passing through Thanh Oai, Ung Hoa, Phu Xuyen districts and Ha Dong district (old) with a total investment of more than VND6,000 billion, implemented under the form of BT (build-transfer contract).
By 2018, the project had put into operation 18.5km from Ha Dong to the end of Thanh Oai district (old). The remaining 23km is under construction, of which more than 14km is in Ung Hoa district and 9km is in Phu Xuyen district (old).
