Hanoi Metro serves more than 243,000 passengers during the Binh Ngo Tet holiday 2026, all train trips operate safely and on time.

During the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday of Binh Ngo 2026, the Hanoi urban railway system recorded more than 243,000 passenger trips, an increase of over 32% compared to the same period in 2025.

Implementing the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, from February 14th to the end of February 22nd, 2026 (ie from December 26th to January 6th), Hanoi Metro will deploy train schedules to serve the Tet peak period. Throughout this time, the system operates stably and safely, meeting the increasing travel needs of people in the Capital.

According to statistics, more than 3,333 train trips have been operated, 100% of train trips departing and arriving on time, no incidents affecting passengers occurred. Total passenger volume on the two routes reached more than 243,000 trips. In which, Cat Linh - Ha Dong route served more than 165,000 passengers; Nhon - Hanoi station route (elevated section) reached nearly 78,000 trips.

Passenger growth during Tet shows that people are increasingly prioritizing using public transport, especially metro, during peak holidays and Tet. The advantage of punctuality, safety and stable transportation capabilities helps urban railways become a convenient choice for spring travel activities, visiting relatives, as well as connecting to major transit points in the inner city.

Maintaining safe and absolutely punctual operation during peak periods continues to strengthen passenger confidence in the Hanoi metro system, while affirming the increasingly clear role of urban railways in the public transport structure of the Capital.

After the Tet holiday, from February 23, 2026, the two metro lines will return to the standard train schedule. Daily operating hours are from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM. Peak hours on weekdays, in the morning from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM and in the afternoon from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, trains run at a frequency of 6 minutes/trip. The time frame from 7:30 PM to 10 PM is extended by 15 minutes/trip; the remaining times maintain 10 minutes/trip. Especially on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the frequency is stable at 10 minutes/trip.
