On January 11, Mr. Tran Hong Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Construction led the ministry's working delegation to work with the People's Committee of Lam Dong province on planning, investment and construction of transport infrastructure and housing in the province.
Lam Dong currently has 4 types of transportation including roads, railways, waterways and airways. In which, road transport infrastructure plays a particularly important role in regional linkage, promoting socio-economic development.
Over the past time, the province has been focusing resources on implementing key and dynamic transportation projects such as the Tan Phu - Bao Loc, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressways...

Proposing to the Ministry of Construction at the working session, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi wished the Ministry of Construction to soon support the policy of approving the planning of the East-West road connecting 3 areas: Gia Nghia - Bao Loc - Phan Thiet to create an interconnected axis throughout from the Central Highlands to the coastal region.
Discussing this proposal, Mr. Bui Quang Thai - Director of the Vietnam Road Administration said that first of all, the locality needs to include the East-West road in the provincial plan.
On that basis, Lam Dong must clarify technical factors, feasibility, investment plans, and implementation capital sources to have appropriate proposals, sufficient basis for consideration in the national planning system.
From the perspective of state management, Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Construction affirmed that the Ministry will continue to research and advise on the most feasible options for the province's proposals, in the spirit of harmony between local development needs and the ability to balance resources.

Emphasizing further the long-term development requirements, Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province - said that after the merger, although many inter-provincial roads have been repaired and upgraded, the long-term connectivity is still limited.
The locality really needs the attention and support of the Central Government and the Ministry of Construction to form inter-regional transport routes, creating motivation for sustainable development for the province in the new period.
At the same time, the province also proposed adjusting the investment progress of 2 expressways Nha Trang - Lien Khuong and Buon Ma Thuot - Gia Nghia.
Concluding the working session, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh assessed that Lam Dong after the merger has many advantages in terms of development space, resources and growth potential, but also faces many difficulties, especially in planning and connecting transport infrastructure.
The Minister requested the province to proactively coordinate with localities where projects pass through, urgently complete dossiers and legal procedures; and at the same time be more drastic in site clearance to create conditions for investors and contractors to accelerate construction progress.

Regarding the project to upgrade National Highway 28B - the artery connecting Phan Thiet with the old Da Lat area - Minister Tran Hong Minh requested relevant units to basically complete about 90% of the volume before the Lunar New Year, meeting the increasing travel demand of people and tourists. The remaining volume needs to be completed before March 2026.
According to the Minister, this progress milestone is especially important in the context that Lien Khuong Airport is expected to temporarily suspend operations for repair and upgrade.
