The Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway project is 65.88km long, with a total investment of more than 18,000 billion VND, implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).
The project was approved by Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee in June 2025, started construction on December 19, 2025 and is expected to be completed and put into operation at the end of 2027.
According to the design, the expressway has a starting point connecting to the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway in Dong Nai province, and a ending point in Ward 1 Bao Loc (Lam Dong province), with a maximum design speed of 80km/h.
Recently, at a working session with relevant units on the Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway Project (afternoon of January 15), Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested the Provincial Land Development Fund Center to soon pay compensation costs to households subject to site clearance.
The Center needs to coordinate with localities to review and determine the origin and legality of land for pending dossiers. From there, soon develop compensation and site clearance plans, ensuring project progress.
For the Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 1 and the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested to soon issue guiding documents for investors to complete procedures and accelerate the implementation progress.
On the investor side, Son Hai Group Co., Ltd., Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested the enterprise to proactively implement related tasks immediately after being guided; and at the same time survey and evaluate the quality of mineral mines, and develop a plan to use materials for construction.
Sharing about the project, Mr. Phan Le Son (Ho Chi Minh City) said that on holidays and Tet, he and his family often go to Da Lat for tourism and vacation. However, for many years, National Highway 20 has always been overloaded, often congested, and takes a lot of travel time.
According to Mr. Son, when completed, the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway project is expected to reduce the load on National Highway 20, especially the section through Bao Loc Pass.
Currently, the Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 1 of Lam Dong province, the investor Son Hai Group Co., Ltd. and the project enterprise Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway Investment Co., Ltd. have signed BOT contracts (build - operate - transfer).
Relevant units are completing necessary procedures to ensure the project enters the construction phase in February.
