On July 14, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board (PMB) said that the unit had installed additional prohibition signs, blocking the entrances and exits of the expressway to ensure traffic safety for people, vehicles and construction units.
Accordingly, at the Tam Hiep overpass area in Hieu Giang commune (old Cam Thuy commune) at km 738+600; the Duong 9 overpass in the old Cam Hieu commune (now Hieu Giang commune); km 727+300, the intersection with Provincial Road DT.575 through Con Tien commune and some connecting points to open the intersection of residential routes and the Ho Chi Minh Highway East branch have added warning signs, warning ropes and barriers with hard median strips.
In addition to installing a sign system, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board will guide and recommend that vehicle owners who do not have information can still travel on the route to ensure traffic safety.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway had nearly 100% of its road paved, so cars could run smoothly throughout the route. However, along the route, many sections still have construction material storage areas, construction vehicles, and power lines running across the road. Important traffic safety items such as railings, hard median strips, road markings, signs, directional boards, etc. have not been installed synchronously. The road surface is still covered with dirt and rocks, sharp iron nails. All create an environment with a high risk of accidents for people and vehicles.
However, not only private cars but also trucks run on the highway. Many vehicles are still going in the wrong direction, crossing unfinished intersections, causing the risk of collisions to always lurk.
