Due to the impact of heavy rain lasting from the night of June 7 to the morning of June 8, many serious landslides appeared in Lai Chau province, causing traffic jams and affecting people's lives in some areas.
Specifically, on Provincial Road 136, the section passing through Ban Thom Bridge (Ban Hon Commune, Tam Duong District) suffered a serious landslide, making it impossible for cars to travel.

Similarly, at Km13+400 on Provincial Road 129 (Lai Chau City - Sin Ho District), the landslide on the positive slope caused a complete traffic jam.
Traffic paralysis also occurred on Provincial Road 133, the section bordering Nam Can Commune and Than Thuoc Commune (Tan Uyen District), all vehicles were helpless and could not pass due to a large landslide.

In addition, many other provincial roads are also at high risk of landslides and traffic insecurity.
In the Ban Doan Ket area - the center of Ban Giang commune (Tam Duong district), prolonged heavy rain caused water levels to rise, causing flooding and directly affecting more than a dozen households, many of which were locally isolated.
In Tan Phong ward (Lai Chau city), there were some locally flooded and landslide points, affecting some households.

Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, Lai Chau Provincial Police directed forces to be present at landslides and flooding sites, coordinate with local authorities to guide, warn people, and organize traffic flow. At the same time, mobilize forces and specialized means to support the relocation and relief of affected people.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the past 6 hours (from 4am to 10am on 8.), the provinces in the Northern mountainous region have had moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places with very heavy rain such as: Muong Khoa 252.8 mm (Lai Chau); Muong leo 90 mm, Hang Chu 84.4 mm (Son La)...
Soil moisture models show that some areas in the above provinces are nearly saturated (over 85%) or have reached a saturated state.

In the next 3-6 hours, the mountainous provinces of the North will continue to have rain with common accumulated rainfall from 20-50mm, some places over 80mm.
In the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in many districts of Nam Nun, Phong Tho, Sin Ho, Tam Duong, Tan Uyen, Than Uyen, Lai Chau City.
