At 12:30, flight number PR585 landed safely, carrying the first 193 passengers from the Philippines on the direct flight to Da Nang. The visitors were warmly welcomed with flowers, souvenirs and photos in a joyful atmosphere, marking a good start in connecting tourism and trade between the two cities.
The airline also gave gifts to passengers on the return flight from Da Nang to Manila, departing at 1:45 p.m. the same day.
The Manila - Da Nang direct flight route will be operated with an initial frequency of 3 flights/week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The airline is expected to increase the frequency to 4 flights/week from November 2025 to meet increasing demand. The aircraft used is a modern Airbus A321 with 199 seats, including 12 business class seats.
The opening of a new route by Philippine Airlines has increased the total number of flights connecting Manila and Da Nang to 12 flights per week, facilitating the exchange of tourists. In the first 5 months of 2025, Da Nang welcomed more than 49,000 visitors from the Philippines, an increase of 2.26 times compared to the same period in 2024. This is a testament to the attraction of the coastal city to this market.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, said that having more international flights is a positive signal. The city will continue to promote, advertise and diversify tourism products to attract more tourists from key and potential markets.
